Some Fun English Words

Yes these are real words in the English language & they are glorious.

Defenestration: the action of throwing someone out a window

Over-morrow: The day after tomorrow

Ere-yesterday: The day before yesterday 

Rhotacism: Excessive use of the letter R

Lingible: Meant to be licked

Whip-jack: a beggar, specifically one who is pretending to be shipwrecked

Yerd: to beat an object with a stick

Roddikin: The fourth stomach of a cow or deer

Balbriggan: a type of cotton, most often used in underwear

Cornobble: To slap or beat another person with a fish

Aposiopesis: A sudden breaking off in the middle of a sentence, as if from inability or unwillingness to proceed.

Kerflooey: to cease functioning, especially suddenly or completely

Aeonien: eternal or everlasting

Ludic: playful, in an aimless way

Hebetude: The state of being dull; lethargy

Unputdownable: So interesting or suspenseful as to compel reading (I swear I'm not making these up)

Stelliferous: having or abounding with stars

Fugacious: Fleeting; transitory

Bibliotaph: A person who caches or hoards books

Those are just a few words I thought were kind of fun, I have a dictionary app that gives a word a day & some of them are featured here. Most of these probably haven't been used in a very long time but they're still fun to look at. :D
